What is the World Veg Festival?
The weekend event is organized by the San Francisco Vegetarian Society (SFVS.org), the first one was in 1988. It has run continuously uninterupted for the last fourteen years. It is our way to celebrate World Vegetarian Day, which is observed worldwide on October 1. Our event is usually a week before or after WVD.
Last year's event saw us host the International Vegetarian Union's 40th International Veg Conference. It was so successful, the IVU decided that all of their future conferences will conform to the festive spirit we try to capture.
